Resident Connection During COVID-19
Resident community events and connection has always been an integral aspect of our success at O’Brien Realty Group communities. With COVID-19 upon us over the past year, keeping up with that has proven difficult, but not impossible. We have put forth our best efforts to make all of our residents feel important and to continue to feel a sense of belonging within the community that they live in.
When the pandemic began, we did everything we could to make our residents feel appreciated and taken care of. Over the course of the 3 months following government shut downs, we provided all of our residents with monthly gift cards to some of their favorite local (Harvey, LA & Algiers, LA) restaurants. We thought if we couldn’t provide interaction and socialization, we can at least provide some comfort in “taking them out to dinner”.
Just last month, we celebrated Mardi Gras our own way by hosting our annual king cake giveaway. We distributed about 1500 king cakes across our Louisiana properties to all residents, and also brought cakes to a local youth gym.
Throughout 2020 and 2021, keeping residents engaged through social media contests and promotions has been a priority. Great prizes have been given out for participation including money off rent, electronics, and gift cards. Some of the resident favorites were our Jack O Lantern Halloween contest, 12 days of Christmas, and “What we love about living” at an O’Brien Realty Group apartment community.
Next week, we are very excited to be hosting one of our first in person events. We will be hosting a ‘Barks & Brews’ at our dogs parks located at Emerald Pointe Apartments in Harvey, LA and the Mayfair Apartment Homes in Algiers, LA. We are inviting residents and members of the local community to enjoy refreshments for themselves and their furry friends, and enjoy a live DJ. Make sure your pup is looking his/her best because we will also have a professional photographer taking shots for our new community pet calendars! It will be outside, and we will require masks and people to be socially distanced.
